The last of the V8s, the Interceptor from Mad Max II
I would like to point out that I created this painting way before the 4th Movie Fury Road came out. I know it’s just like the beginning of the film but look again, the car has twin tanks. This was my take on the second movie. I wanted to portray a rare calm moment, from a safe viewing point and, if I’m honest I thought an all out crescendo of full Mad Max action would just be too much for people’s walls! I gotta think of those things, I’m an artist trying to make a living.
The whole composition and main idea though is based on my enjoyment of portraying sunlight. I wanted to push a burst of sunlight through from under a car and this last of the V8s seemed the perfect subject.
