Description
Here is James Dean at a race meeting with his Porsche 356 in 1955.
He not only raced in Santa Barbara but also Palm Springs and Bakersfield.
However, as soon as production started on the movie Giant in 1956, Warner Bros did not allow Dean to compete in races while under contract.
When he returned to the racetrack after filming he was seduced by Porsche’s 550 which was designed for racing.
So he traded in this 356 for a real Giant killer, and well, you now the rest …
